ณ ประเทศสิงคโปร์ นายศิริพงษ์ ทุษดี 1 ใน 10 ตัวแทนประเทศไทย ชนะการแข่งขัน “The Last Palm Standing – Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge” ผู้ที่ยืนแตะรถยนต์ซูบารุไว้ได้นานที่สุดจากบรรดาคนอึดจาก 9 ประเทศ 400 คน โดยสามารถยืนแตะรถได้นานถึง 76 ชั่วโมง 55 นาที 5 วินาที ในสังเวียนประชันความแกร่งประจำปี 2562 นายศิริพงษ์ อายุ 41 ปี อาชีพพนักงานขับรถ เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันรายการนี้ครั้งที่ 5 และสามารถคว้าชัยชนะคนที่แข็งแกร่งที่สุด รับรางวัลเป็นรถยนต์ The All-New Subaru Forester 2.0i-L มูลค่า 1.33 ล้านบาท พร้อมเงินรางวัลอีก 5,000 ดอลลาร์สิงคโปร์ เพื่อเป็นการฉลองชัยชนะครั้งแรกให้กับประเทศไทย บริษัทมอเตอร์ อิมเมจ จำกัด ประกาศมอบโปรโมชั่นพิเศษชื่อ “Siripong Last Palm Standing Offer” ให้กับลูกค้าที่ออกรถยนต์ ซูบารุ ฟอเรสเตอร์ หรือ ซูบารุ เอ็กซ์วี เป็นบัตรน้ำมันรถมูลค่า 9,999 บาท เพิ่มเติมจากโปรโมชั่นอื่นๆ ที่มีอยู่แล้ว และจะมีผลทันทีสำหรับการสั่งจองและการส่งมอบรถยนต์ทุกรุ่นในเดือนพฤศจิกายน เป็นเวลากว่า 4 วันที่ต้องต่อสู้กับความเหนื่อยล้า และอากาศที่ร้อนอบอ้าวของประเทศสิงคโปร์ โดยมีสายฝนที่ตกลงมาให้ได้คลายร้อนในวันสุดท้ายเพียงเวลาสั้นๆ คุณศิริพงษ์ รู้สึกตื้นตันใจเป็นอย่างมากเมื่อเขาได้รับตำแหน่งผู้ชนะในการแข่งขันประชันความแข็งแกร่งครั้งนี้ คุณศิริพงษ์ กล่าวว่า “ผมเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันนี้เพื่อพิสูจน์ตัวเอง เพื่อท้าทายตัวเอง แม้ว่าร่างกายจะเหนื่อยล้า แต่ผมมีความสุขมากจริงๆ ที่ชนะ หลังจากที่พยายามสู้กับขีดจำกัดของตัวเองมาเป็นเวลา 4 วัน ผมขอขอบคุณผู้สนับสนุนและกองเชียร์ที่คอยให้กำลังใจ ผมซาบซึ้งใจมากๆ ครับ ตอนนี้ก็ตั้งตารอที่จะได้ขับรถยนต์ซูบารุคันใหม่กับครอบครัวและเพื่อนๆ” ผู้เข้าแข่งขันต้องเผชิญกับฝนในช่วงรุ่งเช้าของวันสุดท้ายของการแข่งขัน ด้วยเหตุผลด้านความปลอดภัย การแข่งขันจึงถูกระงับไปเป็นเวลา 40 นาที ในช่วงที่มีพายุฝนฟ้าคะนอง ถือเป็นการต่อสู้ที่ยากลำบากจนถึงวินาทีสุดท้ายจริงๆ สำหรับคุณศิริพงษ์ ที่ต้องเผชิญหน้ากับคุณหลู่ ฟาน คว็อก (Luu Van Quoc) ผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระ วัย 22 ปี จากประเทศเวียดนาม ซึ่งคว้าตำแหน่งรองชนะเลิศอันดับหนึ่ง และเงินรางวัล 1,000 ดอลลาร์สิงคโปร์ ส่วนรางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับสองเป็นของพยาบาลหญิงชาวสิงคโปร์ คุณมาซลินาห์ อาหมัด (Mazlinah Ahmad) อายุ 54 ปี ซึ่งทำเวลาไป 76 ชั่วโมง 9 นาที การแข่งขันเริ่มขึ้นในวันเสาร์ที่ 2 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ.2562 บริเวณห้างสรรพสินค้า Ngee Ann City ประเทศสิงคโปร์ มีผู้เข้าแข่งขัน 400 คนจาก 8 ประเทศโดยผู้เข้าแข่งขัน 320 คนมาจากประเทศสิงคโปร์ และมีตัวแทนจากแต่ละประเทศอีก 10 คน ได้แก่ กัมพูชา จีน ฮ่องกง มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ ไต้หวัน ไทย และเวียดนาม ทีมฟิลิปปินส์คว้าตำแหน่งผู้ชนะประเภททีมระดับภูมิภาค และรางวัลเงินสด 10,000 ดอลลาร์สิงคโปร์ โดยมีเวลารวมจาก 10 ผู้เข้าแข่งขันยาวนานที่สุด (วัดจากเวลารวมของตัวแทน 10 คนจากประเทศเดียวกัน) เป็นเวลา 424 ชั่วโมงและ 54 นาที ผู้แข่งขันที่ยืนหยัดอยู่เป็นคนสุดท้ายจากแต่ละประเทศยังได้รับเงินรางวัล 1,000 ดอลลาร์สิงคโปร์อีกด้วย สามารถดูรายละเอียดได้จากเอกสารแนบท้าย มร.เกลน ตัน รองประธานกรรมการและกรรมการผู้จัดการ กลุ่มตันจง อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล และนางเดบรา ซูน ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ ฝ่ายการจัดการองค์กร กลุ่ม ตันจง อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล ร่วมเป็นประธานมอบรางวัลให้กับผู้ชนะ นางเดบรา ซูน กล่าวว่า “ดิฉันขอแสดงความยินดีกับคุณศิริพงษ์จากประเทศไทย ไม่มีอะไรหยุดยั้งจิตวิญญาณนักสู้ของเขาได้จริงๆ คุณศิริพงษ์ก้าวข้ามขีดจำกัดทางร่างกาย และจิตใจเพื่อแสดงให้พวกเราเห็นว่า การเป็นผู้ชนะในการแข่งขันของซูบารุนั้นเป็นเช่นไร ดิฉันหวังว่าเขาจะสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้ผู้อื่นต่อไป และขอให้สนุกกับรถยนต์ซูบารุคันใหม่ของเขาค่ะ ในการนี้ ดิฉันต้องขอขอบพระคุณ Mediacorp สำหรับการเป็นหุ้นส่วนของเรามาเกือบสองทศวรรษ และหลังจากปีที่ 18 นี้ไป เราสัญญาว่าเราจะปรับปรุงการแข่งขันให้ดียิ่งๆ ขึ้นในทุกๆ ปี” +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mr Siripong Toosadee from Thailand is the winner of the Last Palm Standing – Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge. He clocked an impressive time of 76 hours, 55 minutes and 5 seconds in the 2019 edition of the iconic urban endurance challenge. The 41-year-old despatch driver succeeded in his fifth attempt and won a brand-new Subaru Forester 2.0i-L worth THB 1.33 million. As the last contestant of the Thai contingent left standing, he also won an additional S$5,000. To celebrate the first-ever win by a Thai contestant, Motor Image is excited to announce the Siripong Last Palm Standing Offer. All customers who purchase a Subaru Forester or Subaru XV will receive THB 9,999 worth of fuel vouchers. This is in addition to all existing offers and takes immediate effect. It covers all bookings and deliveries for the month of November. After four days of battling fatigue and enduring high humidity under the scorching sun and a short spell of rain on the last day, Siripong was visibly emotional when he was crowned the winner. This unique urban endurance competition is in its 18th year. Siripong said: "I entered this competition to prove myself, to challenge myself. Though I’m physically exhausted, I am extremely happy to have won, after pushing myself beyond the limit for four days. I want to thank my supporters for cheering me on. I am truly grateful to them. I am also very much looking forward to driving my new Subaru with my family and friends. For now, I would like to buy a cup of iced milk tea to celebrate my win." The contestants had to endure rain when the sky opened up on the last morning of the competition. For safety reasons, the contest was suspended for 40 minutes during the thunderstorm. It was a tough fight till the end for Mr Siripong who faced against Mr Luu Van Quoc from Vietnam. The 29-year-old self-employed Vietnamese emerged as the first runner-up and won S$1,000 as the Region Winner. Coming in third was 54-year-old Singaporean nurse Ms Mazlinah Ahmad who clocked 76 hours and 9 minutes. The competition started on Saturday, 2 November at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza and attracted 400 contestants from nine regions. 320 of the contestants were from Singapore. There were 10 representatives each from Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The team from Philippines bagged the title of Regional Team Winner and S$10,000 with the longest standing time (combined timings of all 10 representatives from the same region) of a whopping 424 hours and 54 minutes. The last standing representative from each region also won S$1,000 each. The list can be found in the Annexe. Presenting the prizes to the winners were Mr Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Tan Chong International Limited and Ms Debra Soon, Head of Group Corporate Management of Tan Chong International Limited. Ms Soon said, “Congratulations to Siripong from Thailand for his unstoppable spirit. Siripong pushed past his physical and mental limits to show what it is like to be a Subaru winner! I hope he will continue to inspire others and that he enjoys his new Subaru car! I would also like to thank Mediacorp for nearly two decades of partnership.
