KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Kuwait stocks revved up on Sunday after charting strong gains in the previous week. The index soared 58.11 pts in volatile trade to 7827.57 points 鈥?a fresh multi-year high. Mid and low caps paced whereas blue chips were subdued. The bourse has been markedly bullish since April amid optimism over government spending and easing of political tensions. The KSX 15 benchmark eased 2.84 pts to 1082.6 points after hitting record high level earlier last week while weighted index inched 0.16 pts lower. The volume turnover meanwhile ticked 0.84 percent higher to 944.21 million. It had spiked above the 1000 million mark on three consecutive days earlier in the month amid positive sentiments. The sectors closed mixed during the session. Financial services outpaced the rest with 1.81 percent rally whereas parallel market eased 1.26 pct, the biggest loser of the day. In terms of volume, financial services dominated with 48.21 percent market share whereas real estate came in next with 31.34 percent. Banks was a distant third chalking 8.20 percent.
