That was a time when Chinese directors were little known here and Chinese films hardly had an audience in the US. A few Wong Kar-Wai and Zhang Yimou movies may have been shown here, but mainly in small artistic theaters to curious Westerners.And the overseas Chinese here? Not only were their numbers a million smaller than they are now, they didn't have to spend money to see Chinese movies at the theater. These movies were largely available on pirated DVDs that they could get from Chinatown for much cheaper prices and later, with the rapid development of the Internet,prada outlet, online for free. During my 11 years in the US, there has been a boom in movies available online. At first you could download them and directly watch on some video-sharing websites. You could find almost every big new movie made in China on these websites right after it was released.
