For tens of thousands of US teenagers, Hollywood seems to be a faraway dream. For Yvonne Lu, a China-born teenager, the way to Hollywood seems to be even longer.A ceremony was held here Sunday for the launch of a new book unveiling the long road for Grace F. As soon as she could walk, Yvonne loved dancing and making people laugh.At a very young age, Yvonne began learning several different genres of dance including ballet, jazz,coach outlet store online, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, and Chinese traditional.In 2002, she won first place in a beauty pageant. That was the day she got picked up by an agent and her journey to Hollywood began.Accompanying her daughter in Hollywood over the past years, Yang herself also landed roles in a number of films and became an actress.In her book, Yang recalls the successes, setbacks, joys and hardships she and her daughter encountered in Hollywood."The competition for a single role in a movie is so fierce in Hollywood, you have to make yourself stand out in thousands of, or at least hundreds of, candidates," said Yang. "Every day, you feel you are in a battlefield in Hollywood.""I wrote the book because I want other Chinese teenagers who also want to be successful in Hollywood to share my daughter's experience. I also want to share my experience with other mothers whose children have a Hollywood dream,christianlouboutinmaindesign," she said."I was always very passionate about the art ever since I was small. My mother enrolled me to dance classes, like guitar classes and all of that. Actually, it was like all of a sudden thing to move to Los Angeles," Lu said."I see the biggest difficulty for being a Chinese-American artist is that I am Chinese and American. I get type cast a lot which is generic type of Asian, like black hair or good grades. They are generally the only roles I get. "It was so cold when I was there. Because my Chinese is not so good, so I cannot read Chinese. They had people translate it for me. In her blog, she wrote that Hollywood had never seen an A-list Chinese-American star. Maybe someday this situation will be changed, she said."I think it's really a movement. In Los Angeles, there has been a movement for the past years that I have seen. I think that even if it's not me, I am still going to be happy if somebody else can do it. It's really interesting to see everything is changing," she said.
