It鈥檚 not often that an orchestra does reruns.However, the concert that the Signature Symphony created in honor of the Oklahoma centennial made such an impression when it debuted in 2006, that the orchestra鈥檚 fans have been asking for an encore ever since.That wish was granted Friday night, as the orchestra performed its 鈥淥ne Hundred Years of Oklahoma Music鈥?with pretty much the same cast and the same songs done in much the same way as was featured six years ago.One exception was the inclusion of two songs from the Stephen Sondheim musical 鈥淎 Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.鈥?This show will be presented later this month by the Tulsa Community College Theater Department, with the Signature Symphony accompanying the student cast (which, incidentally, did a fine job with 鈥淐omedy Tonight鈥?and 鈥淭hat Dirty Old Man鈥?.Mitch Adams again served as the show鈥檚 narrator, doing a kind of double impersonation of Keith Carradine playing Will Rogers (capped off by a bit of Garth Brooks in 鈥淔riends in Low Places鈥?.Booker Gillespie handled most of the jazzy numbers, from the Ray Charles arrangement of 鈥淥h,http://www.coachmaindesign.com/, What a Beautiful Morning鈥?to a version of Leon Russell鈥檚 鈥淭his Masquerade鈥?that owed a strong debt to George Benson鈥檚 cover version.Lisa Stefanic took on the persona of Ruby Darby, the 1920s oil boom chanteuse,pradamaindesign, for a couple of old-style blues numbers, while Marla Patterson took on the slower, more emotion-laded songs, from Patti Page鈥檚 signature 鈥淭ennessee Waltz鈥?to Carrie Underwood鈥檚 鈥淒on鈥檛 Forget to Remember Me.鈥漈he Signature Chorale opened the second half with a trio of choral pieces, from the hymn 鈥淐ome Praise the Lord鈥?to Norman composer Patti Drennan鈥檚 鈥淲e Are the Music Makers.鈥?The chorus also got to get a little silly,tory burch flats, with men singing a medley of Bob Wills songs,louboutin outlet, 鈥淐herokee Maiden鈥?and 鈥淣avajo Trail,鈥?while the women had a run at Brooks & Dunn鈥檚 hit 鈥淏oot Scootin鈥?Boogie,coachmaindesign.com,鈥?complete with a bit of line dancing.And chorale member Brian Wilson did one of best cover versions of David Gates鈥?鈥淚f,鈥?that I鈥檝e ever heard.Guitarist Randy Wimer sailed through Mason Williams鈥?鈥淐lassical Gas,鈥?Stephen Goforth ran the gamut of sounds one can draw out of members of the brass family with his rendition of 鈥淢acarthur Park,鈥?punctuated by some piercing, almost impossibly high notes, and violist Jeff Smith took up the fiddle for 鈥淥range Blossom Special鈥?and 鈥淔aded Love,鈥?with Epperley joining in on the vocals.The concert will be repeated at 8 p.m. Saturday at the VanTrease PACE, 10300 E. 81st St. For tickets: 918-585-7777, .
