Back at the beginning of winter, I asked people to guess would pile up in Tulsa. The participation was much better than I could have ever hoped for.More than 80 people sent in their guesses, which ranged from the pessimistic 0.7 of an inch to the insane. When a person sent me a guess of 28 inches,

christianlouboutinmaindesignfr.com, she said, 28 was her guess. I said if it came true, she was going to come shovel my driveway. The contest ends today, and we have one person who was exactly right.Congratulations to Richard Hart for his perfect guess of 3.7 inches. He will soon be the new owner of a severe-weather radio, just in time for spring.Hart said in his email that it was what his “weather crystal ball says.”He also offered unsolicited weather predictions that the drought would continue and the East Coast would get all of our snow. There were several blizzards and major snow events that affected the northeast this year.I know some people who would pay top dollar for that crystal ball,
burberry bags, Mr. Hart. Thanks to all of this year’s participants. It was fun for me to check the forecasts for snow and see how the winter would go. I hope you enjoyed it, as well. For a while, I thought the low-ball guess was going to be the winner. Through January, there were only traces,

coach factory outlet, but areas further south had more. The first measurable snow of the year was on Feb. 12, when we had one-tenth of an inch. It wasn’t much, but you could stick a ruler in it, which is good enough for us.We had people also submit their guess for when the first snow would fall, a tiebreaker to determine a winner if two people guessed the same or the amount was between two guesses. Only three of the more than 80 guessed the first snow would be in February, and Trish Daniels was the closest with Feb. 2. Sorry, Trish, there’s no prize there for that but the pleasure of knowing you were the best. The largest snowfall of the year was on Feb. 20, with 3.2 inches. It was pretty to see for a few days, but it was fleeting. The snow had mostly melted a day later and the streets were clear. On Feb. 26, there was 0.4 inches of snow. And that was it. All the measurable snow we had in the winter of 2012-13 fell in the span of two weeks. The winter as a whole was warmer and drier than normal. It was the 25th warmest winter season on record in Tulsa with an average temperature of 41.7 degrees, 2 degrees above normal. Thanks to more than 3 inches of liquid precipitation in February, we were able to make up for the other abnormally dry months in the winter. Tulsa was only 0.43 inches below normal. The snow total was 3.1 inches below the seasonal average. That rain helped our drought condition and brought us to the best level since July.Looking to long term forecasts from the weather service’s Climate Prediction Center, the next few months have a good chance of having above-normal temperatures, but our rain is equal chances of above, below and normal rainfall. To really bust that drought, we’ll need that above-normal rainfall this storm season.-- Jerry Wofford
The Class AA bracket features two of the most prolific scorers in state history with Rebekah Dahlman of Braham and Carlie Wagner of New Richland-H-E-G. Wagner’s Panthers face Pelican Rapids in the quarterfinals, and she can fill it up to the tune of more than 32 points per game. She’s verbally committed to play for the Gophers. Pelican Rapids is led by Mackenzie Korf’s 15.6 points per game. It’s hard to pick against New Richland-H-E-G with all their talent.

The project will involve large costs to the city and is likely to meet resistance from riverside communities, said Nugroho. There are many instances of people not agreeing to relocate, and I think we will have the same problem with people living along the Ciliwung. Their lives and work are based around where they are currently.
