Both EMA and Ryanair have had considerable criticism today following two days of chaos. We were at the Airport all morning hoping to fly out to Grand Canaria with Ryanair. I have to say that contrary to passenger reports on BBC EM News,ohfs, Ryanair did keep us updated with information. I had three text messages advising of changes as they happened and then a cancellation. (We had hand luggage only) An email from Ryanair has confirmed they will refund my money in full. The fault lies with EMA and I take issue with Spokesman Jon Greenway. He states above: "We have had our snow clearing team working all morning and their hard work has paid off. I was watching this and their 'team' was two blokes in small snow clearers ploughing and spreading grit. TWO! The snow was about two inches deep. It was clearly going to take ages. There was also a bloke in a Cherry Picker using a long yellow stick to knock snow off the wings of planes! Honestly. You could not make it up!!Maybe they should not be spending ' 12 Million' on refurbishing the already extensive Duty Free area and should invest in a few more snow clearing trucks. Even if only used a handful of times it would reinforce the reputation of the Airport,cheap gucci, instead of making it a laughing stock.We have now booked to fly out to Tenerife on Tuesday with Ryanair from EMA. Hoping for a result!
