Fraud conviction:
Defensive tackle Julian Pittman was suspended for the first seven games of the 1997 season after being sentenced to 30 days in jail for burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Florida State star receivers Peter Warrick and Laveranues Coles and a female clerk at the Dillard's department store in Tallahassee Mall were caught on videotape in a transaction where several items of men's designer clothing, valued at $243.77, changed hands for less than $25. The clothing included two designer shirts, a pair of jeans and a golf hat. The result: misdemeanor theft pleas and Warrick losing any chance to win the 1999 Heisman Trophy.
Curfew kicks:
Bowden disciplined kicker Sebastian Janikowski and two defensive players for curfew violations in New Orleans before the 2000 national championship game with Virginia Tech. But Janikowski got to play.
"We have an international rule," Bowden joked, alluding to Janikowski's Polish heritage

Failing mark:
Marvin "Snoop" Minnis, Florida State's top receiver

Quarterback Adrian McPherson, promoted just four weeks earlier to starter and hailed for his calm leadership, was kicked off the team last month after becoming the subject of an investigation by Tallahassee police
