Indeed, sometimes, real gun firing is included in the training. More regular mandatory training items are long-distance running, coach outlet, goose step marching and unfortunately listening to lengthy and boring speeches. There s no need to be bothered over the possibility that a ten-bullet shooting trial can turn young students into hawks. And I don t think it s particularly annoying compared to where real guns are traded, let alone those countries that go to war from time to time.
"It is no excuse that he will suffer personally for telling the truth. That is the ultimate test of character that is far more important for a future officer than his duty assignment." I think you missed a key point of the author's piece...this mid will no longer be a future officer because he/she is going to be terminated based on admission to a ucmj/midregs infraction. The service selection interview process should not be tied into the conduct system. I recall the phrase that "your honor shouldn't be used against you". The idea was that a company officer can't walk in on Monday morning and ask "which of you plebes drank underage this weekend?" with no reason to suspect the behavior. The same could be said if you were an O3 (USN LT or USMC Captain) going for a TS clearance and answered that you had drunk driven or committed adultery while commissioned. Yeah, they aren't good things to do but to discharge someone from the service based on an open ended inquiry without any cause is shady. I don't think this is a good thing and the potential externalities would be that fewer people would apply for these roles if they had any skeletons in their closet. I won't even get into the ridiculousness of being expelled from college in your last semester and owing $300K for smoking a joint three years prior...
A number of education reform bills have been unwisely killed so far in the current general session of the Legislature. One that would have made students stay longer in school before dropping out comes to mind. So does another that would have required high school students to take four years of math. Both were killed on political grounds ultra-conservatives seem to be finding big government under every bed this year even though they would have helped to create a better-educated workforce. One proposal that deserves a better fate is House Bill 255, which would create a pilot program to test year-round schooling in the state. There is no good reason to oppose this measure: It allows districts to choose or not to choose to apply for the opportunity, chloe, and the costs are minimal (a maximum of 3 million for support to pilot the idea in six schools). But there also is one good reason to support it: It might work. And if it does, it will provide another option for districts in their continued effort to improve Wyoming s academic results. It is true that year-round school ending summer vacation and inserting shorter breaks at the end of semesters has seen mixed results in other states. But there are at least two good reasons to test it:1. Annual learning loss. Currently, schools spend way too much time in the fall bringing students back up to speed. It would be nice to think that young people would read books and do math over the summer to keep their minds sharp. But that simply does not happen. Thus the first few weeks of school are dedicated to reorienting them to the learning environment and reminding them what they were taught the previous year.Year-round instruction eliminates much of this problem by reducing time away from school from 12 to three weeks. Students return from breaks refreshed but still in classroom mode.2. Eliminating summer slump. Experts say poorer students learn at the same rate as their peers when school is in session. It is during the summers that they fall behind as they are unable to access the enrichment opportunities available to more well-off students. Year-round school, chloe bags, as well as enrichments during breaks, should help keep all students on the same learning pace.Yes,ray ban wayfarer sunglasses, there will be problems for those districts that choose to take on the change.Lack of child care could be an issue during the mini-breaks, and traditional summer activities day camp, 4-H projects, hogan sito ufficiale, family vacations, helping with farming or ranching could be altered or lost. But if the districts meet with stakeholders prior to deciding to pilot year-round school, these problems can be worked out. If not, the district simply won t apply. On the other hand, we wonder if piloting year-round school for 12 months is long enough to test its effectiveness. It will take at least one school year just to adjust to the new schedule; perhaps a two- or even three-year pilot makes more sense. But regardless, we urge legislators to set aside their prejudices and allow for the testing of year-round school. At worse, results will show no change in academic progress. But it also is possible that year-round school will create smarter, ray ban, better-prepared young people. Why not give it a try?
"We'll be fine if we'll commit to getting better on every repetition and every snap of the ball," the coach said. "If we can do that, we'll be a playoff team, and when we get to that point, we'll be one of 16 (Class 4A) teams that could win it all."
